Frequently Asked Questions
Is this just another habit tracker?
No. Dokkodo is a discipline system. You don't track habits—you execute commitments and face trials. It's designed for those who want real accountability, not participation trophies.
What is the Dokkodo?
The Dokkodo ("The Way of Walking Alone") is a list of 21 precepts written by legendary samurai Miyamoto Musashi shortly before his death. It's a guide for living with discipline and independence.
How long is the journey?
The Five Rings take approximately 105+ days of consistent logging to complete. The full journey to 800 hours can take 6-12 months depending on your pace.
Is my data private?
Yes. Your activity logs are yours alone. We don't sell data, show ads, or share your information. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Do I need to log every hour?
You set your "active hours" (e.g., 7am-10pm). You're accountable for those hours. Sleep time doesn't count.
What if I miss a day?
Your streak resets. That's the point. Consistency is forged through consequence, not participation trophies.
How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account and all associated data from the Settings screen in the app. Alternatively, contact us at support@dokkodo.app.
Is Dokkodo free?
Yes. Dokkodo is completely free. No premium tiers. No locked features. No ads. We believe discipline shouldn't have a paywall.
